20 Postmodern Hair Loss Tips

Throughout history, from ancient civilization to the 21st century our hair is considered our greatest asset. It can affect our self-esteem, our moods, our social life and our outlook on life...

Whether we're born in Asia, Africa, Australia or Europe, there are, initially, approximately 100,000 hairs on our head except for redheads who have 120,000 hairs. Each grows independently of the others, in three stages: 90 %in the 'growth' stage, lasting as long as four-to-five years; 10 % in the 'resting' stage, lasting several months--until the hair falls out because of new growth underneath--and the 'new' stage, when increased cellular activity in the hair follicles produces new hairs.
Normally, we lose about 50 to 100 hairs each day. Abnormal hair loss can result from common problems involving both hormone levels and mineral uptake; from metabolic disorders or problems in the scalp and hair shafts, as well as from psychological imbalances.
Here are 20 postmodern hair loss tips for the finest head of healthy hair you're genetically capable of growing:

  1.  Avoid overconsumption of salt in your diet (most vegetables have their own natural sodium) and sugar; skip them entirely, if possible.
  2. Same with alcohol and tobacco, also contributing causes of hair loss and dandruff.
  3. Avoid excessive shampooing-once daily is usually sufficient, using a mild, unmedicated, non-alkaline shampoo (organic ingredients, whenever possible). All bathing or showering strips from your skin the oil which traps water and keeps your skin moist, so avoid harsh soaps, especially those containing deodorant. Also avoid astringents, unless you have oily skin, in which case you can wash/shampoo more often. Those with 'dry' hair may follow shampoos with acid rinses or with oil-based conditioners (again, using organic ingredients whenever possible).
  4. Try headstands--or any position lowering your head below your body--several times daily (15 minutes each time).
  5. Massage your scalp by hand, or with an electric vibrator.
  6. Avoid excessive mental labor, as well as mental stress, both of which reduce scalp circulation by constricting blood vessels. Meditation and mental visualization and relaxation techniques are helpful.
  7. Because minerals are even more important to healthy hair than proteins, include both in your diet. Nutritional deficiencies can cause hair loss, as well as premature graying. In some cases, a copper deficiency may cause premature graying.
  8.  Just as moderate exercise increases bone density and can improve hearing, it also improves blood circulation in your scalp.
  9. Periodic, scientific juice-fasting removes toxic chemicals built up in your body, especially from chemically-grown foods, the air, the water and drugs used, thus producing healthier hair and preventing premature graying and aging.
  10. An ounce (each) of sage and rosemary, left for 24 hours in a pint of good water, provides a tonic for treating dandruff.
  11. Apple-cider vinegar, applied as a rinse, is another folk remedy for dandruff: heat only slightly, pour on, and let it 'set' for an hour on a towel-draped head, before shampooing.
  12. Vitamin E, rubbed on the scalp, is also an effective remedy against dandruff.
  13. Rinse immediately after swimming in chlorine- or otherwise-polluted water.
  14. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh, direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays do the most damage, so avoid the hours they're most intense--10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Daylight Savings). Even in the shade, ultraviolet intensity can be 50% of that in bright sunlight, while sandy beaches can actually intensify UV exposure by 25% (100% in snow). Same on hazy or cloudy days, when 70-to-80% of UV rays reach the ground. Most skin cancers, for example, are related to the total amount of sunlight absorbed, so do meter yourself.
  15. A correlation has been drawn between excess stress and hair loss, even among modern teenagers, so do try to reduce stressors in your life, as much as possible. Using your wisdom in finding ways to manage stress is fundamental to achieving better hair and skin vitality, not to mention the other physiological, psychological and spiritual payoffs. This is one of the best hair loss tips.
  16. Do avoid the hottest settings of hair-curlers, curling irons and hair-dryers to prevent hair damage, as well as avoid skin burning.
  17. Don't assume that ingesting more protein will stop or prevent hair loss. The U.S. has, by one estimate, 50 times more baldness than low-protein-diet nations such as China, India, Japan and Mexico.
  18. Instead, focus on appropriate exercise and on good (organic, whenever possible), balanced nutrition, including whole grains, nuts and seeds; fresh, raw fruits and vegetables (especially silicon-rich kelp, onions, nettle, comfrey and alfalfa); raw (unfertile, whenever possible) egg yolks once or twice a week, and if you still use milk, goat's rather than cow's, usually in the soured form--kefir, yogurt, etc. Also, try to be accepting of what Life has dealt you, genetically, understanding that even though all of the above can help with hair problems--especially those caused by nutritional deficiencies--all but 2% of male-pattern baldness, for instance, results from an overproduction of sex hormones which thickens the galea--the top sheet of scalp tissue--thus constricting the ability of blood capillaries to feed hair roots.

Finally, bear this in mind to "Always avoid the two conditions leading to illness--unwholesome diet and behavior--by means of mindfulness. Avoid harmful actions of the body, speech and mind, and devote yourself to what is right. Neither torment your senses of taste and so forth, nor overindulge in sensual pleasures."
The above mentioned are top hair loss tips to stop or prevent hair loss from further happening. We hope that we have given you enough information to help you against your battle with this growing condition.

Safe, Effective, and Drug Free Hair Loss Treatment

Searching for the appropriate hair loss treatment could be such a tedious task. There is a lot to try but there is little time to try them all. Everyone wants to find a safe and effective treatment with the least trouble. That is not as easy to achieve as it sounds.

Unfortunately, no existing product has been able to treat everyone’s hair loss. In other words, there is no cure for baldness yet. However, there is a safe, effective, and drug free hair loss treatment derived from nature at the same time a product of modern science: Leimo.

The most conventional method to treat hair loss involves the use of drug-based medications. Even doctors prescribe them. However, the risks of these drugs can be alarming.

Finasteride is a classic example of the potentially harmful drug because it can cause sexual dysfunction. Early this month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration adds new side effects to the hair loss drug Propecia (finasteride) after discovering that it has severe effects on fertility, among its other potentially permanent sexually related side effects.

Minoxidil is another drug that can produce weird side effects such as swelling and shortness of breath.

A Powerful Drug Free Hair Loss Treatment

Leimo is science’s and nature’s best shot at treating hair loss in men and women. Leimo is a DIY system that features a professional range of topical products that work synergistically in conjunction with the Personal Hair Laser.

Topical Products

Leimo’s topical products utilize the highest-grade natural essences from saw palmetto, rosemary, grape seed, nettle, castor, and camellia.

These ingredients contain essential fatty acids (gamma linolenic acid, alpha linolenic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid, and azaleic acid); vitamin B6; zinc; beta-sitosterol; and procyanidin oligomers. All of which have been scientifically tried, tested, and proven to treat hair loss due to the hormone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

The topical products include the following:

1. Leimo Bio Cleansing Shampoo
2. Leimo Thickening Conditioner
3. Leimo Scalp & Body Scrub
4. Leimo Scalp Therapy Day Treatment
5. Leimo Scalp Serum Night Treatment

The Leimo topical system is a drug free hair loss treatment that works to prevent further hair loss due to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) formation in the follicles. DHT is the key to hair loss, with the sole aim to kill the hair follicles slowly and gradually. Leimo reduces DHT levels by significant levels, thus ceasing the course of hair loss.

Leimo Personal Hair Laser

The Leimo Personal Hair Laser is designed to restore hair and induce new hair growth at a cellular level. The device is non-invasive, non-chemical, and has no documented side effects.

Combining the powerful potential of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and Light Emitting Diode Technology (LEDT), this laser device will reverse the miniaturization of the hair follicles by delivering extra boost to the cells and improving the circulation to the scalp. Thus, the Leimo Personal Hair Laser restores hair, complementing the Leimo topical system.

Expert Tools for Good Hair Regrowth

A proper hair care regimen serves as a preventive and corrective measure against hair loss and such other hair and scalp problems. Hair loss is a major threat to the self-esteem which is why some people, men and women of all ages already tremble at the thought of it happening to them.

Besides being preventive and corrective, treating the hair properly induces good hair regrowth which reflects in a full healthy head of hair. A good hair care regimen starts with the use of the right tools and doing the right way of using them.

Types of Expert Tools

Classic Natural Bristles: Boar-bristle brushes are natural which makes them very good for any type of hair. Some brushes of this type have an open cylinder to distribute heat properly during blow drying. They specifically eliminate static electricity which can ruin the look of your hair.

Synthetic and Natural Bristles: Brushes such as Mason-Pearson is a superior-quality brush that combines nylon with boar fibre. Some of these brushes are specialized based on the length of the hair. They give off excellent results after blow-drying.

All-Synthetic Bristles: Brushes like these are often used by top hairstylists particularly on a medium-length and long hair.

Steel-Toothed Comb: Combs with steel teeth work best in parting hair, creating sections, and distributing treatments throughout the length of the hair.

Proper Brushing / Combing for Hair Regrowth

A clean hair always begins with using a clean tool. Clean your brushes and combs regularly with a diluted shampoo. This alone will already take away dirt collected in the hair from your day-to-day activities.

Regular brushing doesn’t have to mean every hour of every day. That would already constitute abuse to your hair. Forget about the myth of 100 strokes as this will only rob the natural moisture of your hair.

Brush your hair in the morning and in the evening. Doing so in the morning will help optimize the effects of your shampoo to your hair. Doing so in the evening will remove the accumulated dust and any pore-clogging dirt from your hair.

All in all, brushing is an excellent hair regrowth routine especially for those suffering from hair loss.

Avoid using a narrow-toothed comb on a wet hair. Wet hair is very weak and thus prone to breakage when harsh tools are used. Use a wide-toothed comb instead to remove the tangles safely.
